Who Is Rachel Barratt Leadership?

For almost 30 years I worked as a HR Professional working with all level of Managers and Executives in my various HR roles in the NHS and then working with small business owners and their workforces when running my own HR Consultancy.

Becoming increasingly frustrated with leaders not reaching their peak potential and the impact this had on  the wider business I thought “what’s not working?”

Having become obsessed with how our subconscious mind works and how we can create unprecedented levels of motivation for all, and how significant past mind and body programming plays a part in either helping or hindering our leadership growth and transformation I knew that coaching and training leaders to develop from the inside out – yes in that order – was critical not only for their own success and growth but also for their teams and the business overall.

There is an incredible power in the mix of both the inner and outer leadership development work but that outer development will never be as effective if the person isn’t first BEING the leader they need to be in today’s modern world.

What Makes Us Different?

Leadership Development is Much Like Building a House

You decide on the  materials needed – in this case the skills needed – and then you stack these skills like you would the bricks of the house, one on top of the other as you grow an incredible leader.

BUT, as I said, there is a fundamental flaw with this approach and this is why we are facing such a decline in leadership capability and the trust and confidence we can have in our leaders of  today.

For the right kind of leadership transformation to happen our leaders need to embody the modern leader with a person centred/heart lead approach.

This means transforming from within to BECOME the type of leader we now need in our workplaces.  They must think and behave differently to leaders of the past, they must have a formidable mindset to be able to handle the fast paced nature of the world we now live in and the responsibility to role model the correct behaviours for others to follow.

Second

Too many leaders are still leading using an outdated leadership, and I’d go as far to say ‘Management’ style with skills and behaviours more accustomed to the old ‘control and command' management style rather than modern person centred/heart led leadership style.
